Why socks slide down and how to stop it

A sock stays up thanks to an elastic cuff plus compression across the instep. If the cuff loosens over time, it lacked elastane or was too thin to begin with.

The second reason is the wrong size. A sock that's too big bunches inside the shoe and drags the cuff down. That's why we recommend measuring by foot length, not by guesswork.
